Orange Soufflé

by Aradhna Manchanda

Some recipes become special not because they are complicated, but because of the people they remind us of.

This Orange Soufflé is one such dessert – light, cheerful and deeply wrapped in memories.

For me, it will always be connected to my elder sister, Didi, who was an exceptional cook. She had a beautiful gift for transforming the simplest ingredients into dishes that felt elegant, comforting and unforgettable. I learnt this recipe from her, and every single time I make it, I am instantly transported back to those moments spent together in the kitchen – watching, learning and simply being around her warmth.

What I have always loved most about this dessert is its simplicity. With just a handful of ingredients, it comes together into something that feels festive, delicate and special enough for any celebration. Didi firmly believed that good food never needed to be complicated. According to her, all it truly needed was care, patience and love. And this Orange Soufflé carries that philosophy beautifully in every spoonful.

The creamy texture, the refreshing citrus flavour and the colourful fruit topping make it a dessert that instantly brightens both the table and the mood. But beyond the flavours, what stays with me most are the memories attached to it – Didi’s generosity, her effortless grace in the kitchen and the happiness she spread through food.

Some of the most meaningful lessons in cooking are never written in recipe books.
They are passed down quietly through shared kitchens, family conversations, laughter and love.

And for me, this Orange Soufflé will always remain one such memory. 🍊✨
