From the Family Kitchen

The most memorable homemade treats aren’t always the most elaborate—they’re the ones made with care, shared generously, and enjoyed together.

These Almond Butter Cups celebrate the beauty of simple, wholesome ingredients transformed into something truly special. Whether served at a gathering, packed into a gift box, or enjoyed as an afternoon indulgence, they’re a reminder that a little chocolate and a lot of love can brighten any day.

Ingredients

  • 400 g almond butter
  • 100 g almonds, roasted and chopped
  • 500 g 70% dark chocolate

Method

  1. Roast the almonds until lightly golden, allow them to cool, then chop them finely.
  2. Mix the chopped almonds into the almond butter until well combined.
  3. Melt and temper the dark chocolate.
  4. Fill each cavity of a praline mould with the tempered chocolate, then immediately invert the mould to allow the excess chocolate to drain out, creating hollow chocolate shells. Collect the excess chocolate for sealing later.
  5. Refrigerate the mould for about 15 minutes until the shells are firm.
  6. Remove the mould and fill each shell with the almond butter mixture.
  7. Seal the chocolates with the remaining tempered dark chocolate, smoothing the tops.
  8. Refrigerate for approximately 25 minutes, or until completely set.
  9. Gently tap the mould to release the chocolates without damaging them.

Serving Suggestion

Arrange the Almond Butter Cups on a serving platter and enjoy them with warm scones, fruit preserves, or a comforting mug of aromatic hot chocolate. They also make a thoughtful homemade gift for family and friends.
